A stay at Aireys Inlet Getaway is not complete without exploring the world's best surfing beaches right at your doorstep. The Surf Coast has an endless selection of beaches and breaks from which to choose. Local beach breaks can found from Fairhaven to Spout Creek, with "The Spot" being popular with local surfers, while Sunnymeade, on the eastern side of town,  has a nice right-handed point break.

Whilst at Aireys Inlet Getaway, experienced surfers and photographers should pay a visit to the world mecca of surfing, Bells Beach, just a 20 minute drive away.

Beginners and those new to the sport can participate in surf lessons to learn the basics and enable them to embark on their own Endless Summer.

Go Ride a Wave operates in Victoria and Queensland, providing surfing lessons to students of all ages, abilities and fitness levels. Their lessons are safe and fun and their range of boards cater to different skill levels, including beginners, with the aim to get them surfing as quickly as possible.

Certified by Surfing Australia, Big Stick Adventures caters to surfers of all standards and conducts lessons in conditions appropriate to each individual’s skill levels. Their instructors pride themselves in getting students standing on their boards in no time.

Southern Exposure is an “eco adventure” company that also offers individual and group surfing lessons to surfers of all levels. They also do mountain bike and kayak tours and lessons. Keep a look out for their distinctive red rash vests.

Gorats are a mobile company, that hire surfboards and surf equipment. For small or large groups.

But it’s not all about dad and the kids! Surfing Mums is an Australia-wide organisation that brings mothers who love surfing together. The Surf Coast Surfing Mums meet every Saturday at 8am at Torquay Point.
